[Sca-cooks] Holiday dining and Santa Stuff

Guess we really let this all go by without fanfare. We had latke night on
the first night of Hanukkah. Bunches of people and tons of latkes with
sour cream and home made apple sauce. Even had a few people
play dreidel (no we don't have any that are made out of clay).

We had a group over for - gumbo, crawfish in cream sauce and a bunch of
other theme oriented fare. And, we went to a party with friends to
celebrate solstice, their anniversary and of course - the end of the world.

New Years we'll go over to friends for a few hours but will likely be back
before midnight (and this transplanted New Yorker will always consider it
"midnight" when the ball comes down in Time Square - watching it on a two
hour delay just seems wrong.)

We'll toast with a bottle of Prosecco - the same as we had at our wedding.
I'll be roasting a chicken on New Year's Day. Nothing exotic - just with
lemon and rosemary.

This year I actually got a present - my husband decided I need an iPad so I
now have one. It's fun but I'm definitely not using it as much as I think
he would like me to. I'll get used to it.

Caer Galen's Midwinter event went well and we'll be heading to Caerthe for
12th Night. Wish I would get off my backside and make my husband a new
shirt - he desperately needs one.

A Happy, Health and Prosperous New Year to all.
