One solution to the problem is having classes in or near the instructor's
encampment, since on average the students are younger and more mobile than
the teacher and the teacher is more likely to have lots of stuff needed for
the class. When I teach my furniture class, I do it in Budgardr, the
encampment next to ours, since otherwise I would have to lug a lot of
furniture up the hill and back down.
There are obviously advantages to having the University set up the way it
is, but an alternative might be to have several smaller "campuses" in
separate locations.

We've had people teach from our "home" at Pennsic. One person taught a
class about scotch. As a thank you - he brought us lots of yummy scotches
to try.
It isn't a Pennsic University rule but a really, really good idea to let
your group know so that if anyone has an objection to strangers in camp
they can voice it.
Second, NO CHILDREN are allowed unless they follow the university rule: Any
minor who wishes to attend a University class in a private encampment or in
a merchant booth *must be accompanied* by a responsible adult who stays
with them during the class. This was a big deal and had much discussion
last year.
