Since I do not have the recipe, why was it suggested that the walnuts be ground, not chopped?
For grinding, use the processor to finely chopped then place in Ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to roll and pound them finer or just use the Ziploc and rolling pin. The zip and roll method is what my family did for some holiday dishes before the processor came into existence.

.... The same judge also said I should have used ground walnuts instead of finely chopped, and that's another fair criticism, as again I was rushing and didn't want to drag out the food processor nor do I have a mortar big enough to handle 10 ounces of nuts. Another lesson for next time.
