While it's probably not news in Poland, i just learned about the publication of a Polish cookbook from 1682While it is outside out time frame, it is the oldest Polish cookbook i know of, and according to the blurb on the museum website it is known as the oldest Polish cookbook.

Compendium Ferculorum: Albo Zebranie Potraw
by Stanislaw Lubomirski Czerniecki
released and developed Jaroslaw Dumanowski and Magdalena Spychaj
ISBN: 978-83-60959-01

I gather this edition has been in print since 2010. I've never ordered a book from Poland, has anyone here? I'd like to order it. It's 70 zloty (less than $25, not counting postage...) Not that i read Polish, but that hasn't stopped me from bumbling along in other languages.

Urtatim (that's oor-tah-TEEM)
