[Sca-cooks] ground horseradish root

I've read that the horse connection for horseradish comes from the fact that while horses will not eat it, you can encourage them to give the temporary appearance of spirited aggressiveness by introducing it at the other end. The traditional term for the practice, apparently, is feaguing.

It is available in Germany too - just ground horseradish, not dried, in

Or buy fresh and grind yourself. 

And the German word for Horseradish is Meerrettich, 'Meer' in this case
relating to 'mare', so also the horse reference. No idea where it comes
from.
