The province of Forez has never really been on my radar:
"Forez is a former province of France, corresponding approximately to the
central part of the modern Loire département and a part of the Haute-Loire
and Puy-de-Dôme départements."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forez
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forez
But somewhere along the line I downloaded - and then forgot - this
document which takes a detailed look at funereal meals in the region over several
centuries, taken from instructions left in local wills:
LES FORÊZIENS A TABLE, DU XIIIe AU )(Vie SIÈCLE

No recipes and nothing really surprising, but lots of local words for
different foods, including "succana" for bread dipped in sweetened wine.
