Urtatim then replied to this with:
<<< The current King and Queen of Lochac have Mongolian personae, so Baron Drake make a Mongol feast for them at Rowany Festival. >>>

I assume you meant “made”.

<<< I helped out during the preparation and was lucky enough to get to eat the feast.>>>

Want to write it up for me? It did take several years to get this article out of Drakey.

<<< I drank several cups of Drake's kumiss. It was quite tasty and sweet. I don't drink a lot of alcohol, but even i felt it was a bit low. >>>

Low in what? alcohol content? quality?

<<< Drake said he will be getting some real mare's milk for another batch. The sugar, protein, and fat content of mare's milk differs greatly from that of cows, sheep, and goats. >>>

He does go into some detail about the differences in the article and then gives some ways to compensate for the differences.

The kumuss-msg Florilegium file does have some comments about the problems with getting mare’s milk and there were comments from folks being unwilling to milk their Clydesdales. But Drakey’s article was the first that I’ve got indicating how you might make cows milk closer to mare’s milk if you can’t or don’t want to milk a mare.

Like pigs, there are some difficulties in milking mares. And yes, the Florilegium now has a file on milking pigs.
