Boiled ham.  Boil simply in water with dried figs, as usual, it is served 
with rolls, caroenum, or spiced wine, or--better--with sweet wine cakes.

Caroenum is wine or must reduced by 1/3 of its volume.

Yeah, this sounds more like a boiled ham with aauce, rather than a pork stew. Since this one doesn't boil or stew the meat in the sauce for an extended time.
