To be fair, I'm not doing a feast -- yet. This is a feast proposal, which
will go to the group finance committee. However, I am planning to
experiment with the recipes and you're quite welcome to post anything I come
up with. The Science of Cooking is a large collection of recipes, which
means a lot of material to work from. Since I like to prepare feasts from a
single time and place, the size of this Transylvanian collection makes it an
ideal source for my game. I'm certainly indebted to you for organizing the
translation effort and the translators for getting it done. While I can get
by in German and a number of related languages, Hungarian is well outside my
bailiwick. And let's face it, online translation programs don't handle
nuance or colloquialism to the level we need.

Bear

To be fair, the Internet doesn't really belong any more to us old folks who
-used- to be on the more cutting edge of communications technology. Now
we're the "old grumps" who want the young whippersnappers off the Internet
equivalent of our lawns. Ah, well.

That said, I have to admit I got a chill down my spine at reading this.
THE Bear, doing a feast based on The Science of Cooking? Squeeeee! I
can't wait to see what you do with it. And if you want a place to put your
archived thoughts on it together in one place, my blog is absolutely open
to you!

My own current projects? Nothing, really. In a holding pattern while I
rebuild a kitchen space of my own again. Started mentoring a friend down
the dark road of medieval cooking...muah hah hah hah!
