remembered that from the chinese history studies ... and ran into again 
lately when researching a couple of things that mentioned correlations 
between possible comet fragments (or space debrie traveling with it)  
strikes in the biosphere leadind to the ends of dynasties / societies 
(disruption of the environment ... leads to disruption of society ... leads to 
fall of societies ... leads to periods of period stagnation ... leads to new 
organizations ).  process most noticable in large / complex societies or 
ones already in decline from other factors.
 
china is a excellent place to look for these leads as it is a ancient culture 
with a long tradition of meticulous record keeping. one reference pointed to 
several instrances of possible impact during the warring states period ... 
something on the personal to-do list to be checked out in more detail down 
the road.

face it, it's always a bad day when the "hairy" stars fall on your head ...
