Yes but some folks just don't share our perspective on this matter, 
Alaric.  You're large enough to tent peg the average fighter three feet 
into the earth with a single blow, and I'm--well, I guess I'm a mean 
little SOB who doesn't know when to quit.  A little good-natured ribbing 
isn't going to bother either of us. Likewise, I doubt it will bother 
most of the warriors in the royal family.  

Some warriors, OTOH, are insulted just at the *utterance* of the epithet 
"stick jock"--let alone Pug's accidental insulting turn thereupon.  
These warriors see themselves as re-creationists or martial artists, and 
they want to see their endeavors taken seriously. 
Now, I will grant you that *I* feel we should all be willing to accept a 
*little* good-natured ribbing now and again, but serious study and 
training do deserve a measure of respect.

Others, like--perhaps--the lady you were answering, aren't yet too 
comfortable in a warrior's skin.  They need to know that this 
not-too-comfortable effort they're making is going to help them achieve 
more than derision from their peers.
