How about:

Suthergard - ((little circle over the a))  norse for southern city..., if we
could make it plural it would fit in with Ysabeau's idea of being a collection
of cultural centers.

Volodimir - Ruler of the World. Old Church Slavonic for Vladimir, which was a
Rus city-principality (Vladimir-Suzdal).  Vladimir still exists.

Zharomir - the heat of the world.  Fit for Texas or what?

Krasnomir - the beauty/brightness of the world
