Hi, Eibhlin!

Ooo, ooo, i look forward to seeing you there! My current plan has me
arriving on the 3rd or 4th.

Thank you for your offer!

Well, pig doesn't quite go with Muslim Persian :-)

But I'd love to try that for a feast here in The West some time. I
know that Anna Serre did one for a dinner sponsored by the Prince and
Princess of the Mists at this spring's Mists-Cynagua War.

She and I did yet another dayboard at that War. My daughter was in
town that weekend, so i didn't camp (for those who don't know, nearly
all our events involve camping at undeveloped sites). I drove down a
few hours in the rain with my share of the food on Saturday morning,
stayed for several hours, then went home, leaving behind the food,
etc.; and drove back on Sunday morning to pick up leftovers, pots,
and serving stuff.

I had the idea to do dayboards at our Principality Wars a few years
ago, but couldn't afford it at the time (since we have to put up our
own money). But half a year later Anna Serre asked me if i was going
to do one and offered to help. We've done four day boards, so far.
Unlike what i've heard about dayboards in other parts of the Knowne
Worlde, we cooks use our own money to buy the food, then ask for
donations, reimburse ourselves, and donate the rest to a good local
SCA cause - so far we've donated to principality water bearers,
chatelaines, and youth combat.

Anna Serre and her family and household have a sunshade, which i
lack, and she and Crimthyn bring one of their grills, so sometimes we
make food on the spot. We make period and peri-oid food. Hot soup is
a big hit at the cold rainy spring wars, while the cold
watermelon-mint soup i made last year (not period) was a hit at the
hot dry fall war. And Anna Serre sometimes makes homemade bread or
homemade sausages.

We will be doing another day board at the Fall Cynagua-Mists War in September.

>We aren't camping with the West

Neither am i :-) I'm planning to camp in The Enchanted Ground.

>but should be visiting there with some
>regularity, let us know if you need any prep or cooking help.

It's kind of you to offer. I'm sure i'll need some help. When the
Queen lets me know what night the dinner is, i'll be able to let you
know more. I'm trying to make things that won't be too complicated,
given the situation.
