Smoke??? I had my close encounter with that today.

I went off to the grocery store at noon today and had to pause leaving 
the lot to let a pick-up truck with his emergency siren and lights going 
roll past.

I get turned north on Main Street and immediately noticed that the 
shopping center to the west was on fire. I ended up pulling off into 
another parking lot
because there were so many rescue vehicles and fire trucks rolling in 
that one couldn't safely be on the road.

My guess is that we lost one restaurant, one take-out, the pharmacy, the 
dry cleaners (thank god I didn't take
dry cleaning in on Friday) plus two other businesses. Of course that was 
the pharmacy where all the prescriptions are for the family.
All local businesses; all nice places to shop.
