[Steppes] Herbal Guild Meeting

I checked the web page for the herbal guild.  Could you update the page
by posting the report from the November Steppes Letter?  I am appending a
copy of the report to this e-mail so you don't have to re-type it.

Herbal Guild Report for November, 2001

Vicountess Katherine had a death in her family and had to be out of town
during the time of the October Guild Meeting.  Our sympathy and thoughts
are with Vicountess Katherine during this difficult time.  In her stead,
I am submitting the Herbal Guild Report for the month of October.

The October meeting was held at Liadan Brega's home.  We considered many
future projects for guild meetings including bath salts, candles,
incense, balm, rosemary pincushions, votives rolled in ground herbs,
heating pads, cough syrup, room spritzers, bath salts, flavored vinegars,
and flavored oils.  As Christmas is coming and our barony is in need of
largesse, it was decided by consensus that we would select a few projects
and use some for Christmas gifts and give the balance to the Barony for
largesse.  The projects selected were heating pads, bath salts, rosemary
pincushions, cough syrup and votives rolled in ground herbs.

At the November meeting, we will make the cough syrup (and bottle it at
the December meeting.)  Also at the November meeting, we will be taking
unscented votive candles and rolling them in ground aromatic herbs. The
rosemary pincushions will also be worked on at this meeting.

At the December meeting, we will be bottling the cough syrup and working
on filling the rosemary pincushions and heating pads.

We also discussed using a Baronial Work Night for these projects.
However, nothing definite has been done about this at this point.

We have set up a mailing list for the Guild and Lady Nuala will
coordinate it.  If you wish to be added to this list, please contact Lady

The November meeting is scheduled for 11/12/01 beginning at 7:30 PM at
Lady Suzanna the Herbalist's home.  Lady Suzanna's address and directions
to her home will be posted electronically in the near future.  The
December meeting is scheduled for 12/10/01 but the location has not yet
been set.  The January meeting will be a planning meeting for future
projects.

Items under consideration for future projects are making bruise balm,
room spritzers and having Lady Suzanna teach a class on making bone
needles.
