Given that people do not distinguish between "on board" and "off board,"
but mix together, I think having the tables at the back is unnecessary. It
is a real hassle for feast service when you portion for a given number per
table, and then hear "well, we have only two people eating feast, the other
six brought their own." [I'll save my arguments about why non-feast-eaters
should be segregated for the time when I am autocratting......] Given that
there is no real distinction, and I don't think many of the back tables
were used last 12th Night, at least during the day, why not have the
Artisans set up, and then take down for supper?

My thought is that there is very little going on early in the day. This
would be a good time to have the displays and judging, in a concentrated
timeframe - 10:00am to 4:00pm? Does it take more than six hours to judge?

That still gives time to unset the displays and let people set up for
supper, assuming a 5:30-6:00pm scheduled start for the meal.

A tent in Texas in January? Could work and could be pretty horrible.

Good point, Philo, about Artisan fitting in better with the "attitude" of
12th Night than Warlord.
