[Steppes] Artisan to practices aka FUN

Lets expand on this fun thing Saqra brought up. I make use of my Internet
and I talk to people - some of you have graced me with your proverbial ear
online and know that I can chat with the best of them about absolutely
nothing - but I learn as well. Something I've heard from several different
baronies and kingdoms is that practices done together - Like Jason who just
moved to California told me that with the heavy fighters and rapier fighters
AND "juggler/dancer" types it was more like a mini event then a practice -
and its fun. At Gulf War during the Marshall's class I was told to get out
to heavy practices and socialize with fighters - I can't make it to many
practices as it is - and the way we have it would be neat to have more of
our artisan's out to watch and encourage fighters and get involved. Bards as
well - might prove good fodder for a goofy song about some bizarre training
incident. Right now I can only speak from experiences of the fencing
practice - which runs in conjunction with what used to be a dance class - in
the same general location - that has sadly been cancelled for the time
being. I saw the dancers only when I went into the building to check it out
after a practice had been cut short.... and it was neat getting a dance in
before going home. But now you don't have a dance class to be at - show up
at the fencing practice! It really can be quite entertaining, and it would
mean allot, IMO to the fencers. Same goes for the Heavy fighting practice
and archery shoots - If you can get out there - go!
Don't forget the Clothiers guild is starting back up - their meeting was
last night (how did that go?) but go with someone who is interested in the
stuff if your not - you might be amazed to find that while you have no
interest in how your sleeves work - you are interested in the conversation
that goes on while sewing. (I have heard some of the WEIRDEST conversations
from those with needles in their hands.....)
Maybe we could plan a day to six flags - or the beach at one of the lakes -
strictly as a social gathering for Steppes and friends. heck - even
Scarborough might be a neat idea. and not as a Demo - as a way to become
better friends. How can we expect people to want to be friends with us as a
group....when we aren't friends ourselves?
I'm all for the fun thing. What do you think?
Yours,
Adelina
