[Steppes] A&S Activities

Greetings unto the Barony of the Steppes, and Her Cantons of Lindenwood and
Glaslyn,

I wish to thank Her Excellency Katherine, our Seneschal and our Central
Regional MoAS for their confidence in me to be able to perform this office.

It has been requested of me to check the Guilds and A&S information on the
Steppes website, to verify accuracy and activity. If you have any
information regarding the activities on the website , or changes to the
guilds currently on the website, please contact me with this information
asap, so the changes may be made. Also if you are starting a new guild, or
reviving an old one, please get that information to me as well. It has also
been requested of me by the Central Regional MoAS that all the guilds send
me a monthly report...it doesn't have to be long or formal, just a rundown
of the activities that I can send her with my report each month.

Now onto bigger and better things...

We would like to  hold either  monthly or bi-monthly A&S days or evenings.
Is there something special you would either like to teach, or would like to
see taught?
Please email me with your input, as this will be valuable in our scheduling.

Lady Rixende has already graciously volunteered to teach a day class on
lampwork bead making...date TBA.

Fall cout is coming the weekend of October 19-21st and we will be holding
several competitions for the Arts and Sciences:

On-site embroidery

Brewing, both alcholic and non-alcoholic

Heraldic display

Best "period" campsite

On-site Cooking  using period seasonal foods ( to be included in the potluck
dinner)

Dessert/subtlety display competition ( Populace judged, to be included in
the potluck dinner)

Populaces Choice A&S

Bardic, both youth and adult. Adult competition will include: Round 1: Filk
Songs, Round 2: your best '"No Shit I was there" story,(first elimination ),
Round 3: Audience Participation, and the final round: Baronesses Choice.


A gentle reminder to all:

Don't forget to check the Steppes Calender for upcomoming Guild meetings,
such as Brewer's, Potter's, Clothier's , Gaming , and Scribal and
Illumination.

At this time the Dance Guild is currently on hiatus. I would like to see the
following guilds re-started, as interest has been expressed: Fiber Arts,
Cooking, and Herbal. If you already have knowledge in these fields, or would
like to learn more...please contact me  so a time and place  can be arranged
to discuss getting started.

I look forward to serving our Barony and Her Cantons to the best of my
ability and greatly appreciate your input.
