An excellent suggestion, my lady. It IS of first importance that the day of 
the week selected be the most convenient for the most officers and Her 
Excellency. Business meeting is first and foremost a working meeting for the officers, 
and not a populace meeting. If the choice boils down to a day where the most 
populace can come, or a day the most officers can come, the officers should be 
given precedence. It should be open to the populace, but not at the populace 
in general's convenience, but the officers. 
 
As a former Baronial officer (Hospitaler twice, Chronicler twice, and 
Seneschal once -- I'm a glutton for punishment!), we all agreed on a day at each 
Business meeting instead of forcing it to be the same day of the month every 
month. That allowed for more flexibility for those who travelled on mundane 
business or those who had other mundane responsibilities. It was MOSTLY on the same 
day of the month (the first Thursday of the month, if I remember correctly), 
but we discussed the feasibility of the next month's meeting at every meeting 
and changes were made at the convenience of the Baron/ess and the officers when 
needed. At that time, we held business meetings in people's homes (usually one 
of the officers), which gave greater flexibility on time -- which is both a 
good and bad thing. But of course, we didn't have the sheer volumn of business 
to take care of at the time, nor the number of officers.
 
Those officers who have alternates should poll them as well, since they 
should be attending, especially if the primary officer cannot.
