[Steppes] Moving Business Meeting

Just thinking outside the box a bit....

Lynea makes a good point, in that not a ton of fighters have historically
attended business meeting, even when there was no conflict. I tend to agree
that the people who attend something should have more say in the matter than
the people who don't attend a thing...even if the people who don't attend
are in that situation becuase they supposedly can't do so... because there's
no guarantee that if concessions are made to accomodate them, that they'll
actually start to attend.

So, in the spirt of thinking of other solutions... It seems to me that this
is happening because there are a bunch of fighters from the practice who are
interested in attending business meeting, but can't do so because of the
conflict?

What about moving the Tuesday practice ON THE WEEK OF BUSINESS MEETING to
Wednesday or Thursday? Again, of course, communication to the community
would be key. But this might gain additional exposure, if the park that
practice is at has "different" crowds on differnet nights of the week, we'd
gain exposure to the Wednesday or Thursday crowd, business meeting wouldn't
move... I mean, if "most" of the Tuesday fighters are saying, "We want
business meeting on Wednesday so we can do both" they're basically saying
they're committing to Tuesday and Wednesday (as an example). So move
practice night instead of Business Meeting night for that week. Just a
thought.

I still haven't seen a reason to not move business meeting other than
personal preference and non-SCA activity conflicts, but I am usually loathe
to move something to aid one person at the expense of someone else who's
attending already.... unless that person being accomodated is critical. But
there's another solution to chew on.

Morgan
