[Steppes] Events

[Seneschal of the Steppes]

Greetings Steppes,

I want to thank everyone for their hard work at Warlord this weekend. Thanks
are appearing on the list and will continue to come out over the next few
days. It was a huge success and our new Baron and Baroness looked amazing as
they stepped up. The events in the hall were wonderful. The list fields were
majestic. The archery range was busy for two full days in high heat and
humidity. The folks at the hospitality tent prevented serious heat-related
illnesses that could have plagued us in that kind weather. You are the best!

Warlord was special this year because we had a new competition for ME Dance
that I hope we repeat and a very large turnout of Youth fighters. We had
newcomers helping us out and people that I've only seen at a few meetings
come and offer their help to me. When you're Seneschal and you're greeted
with "how can I help you" in the morning - you want to cry :)

Artisan is usually held in August. We are fast approaching the final hour
for getting a bid on this event. At this point, we missed the Black Star
deadline if we wanted to have 2 ads and if we don't get something organized
soon, we won't be able to meet the July 1st deadline for the August ad. I
know you guys are tired and need rest. However, if anyone is interested in
being event steward for Artisan, please let me know so we can get started.

Also, I have a bid on 12th Night and we will be making the decision on that
sometime after June 13th. If you want to be event steward for 12th Night,
please get your bid in by that date or it will be too late.

Business meeting is on June 7th at Midway Point (same place as last month).
If you want to be more involved, or learn more about how the Barony works
and runs, come out and join us. I will be sending out a better reminder
later in the week with an address and directions.

Populace this month is at Duncan and Christianna's house. We will have more
reminders on this later in the month. This will be on June the 25th.

That is all for now - I'm tired but very happy to be a have the opportunity
to work and play with such fine people!
