And don't make the mistake of taking one of those nifty little multi tool 
thingies. Mine had scissors,  tiny screw driver, nail file, etc, unfortunately 
it also had a blade that was maybe at a stretch two inches. Yep. Gone. 


Stick with the kid/baby scissors or the quilting scissors. They both pack well 
as they are small and not pointy. Particularly if thread is all you need to cut, 
just get new ones so they are good and sharp. Small fingernail/cuticle scissors 
work well too. Again, if it's just thread, the smaller, the easier to pack.
