A good day was had in the shop, with many thanks due to my dad both
for the use of his awesome facilities and for his help today when I
wouldn't have been able to make do with only one set of hands! The
shoulders are now cut on all the poles, which makes them ready to
receive the metal reinforcements for the tops.

Next steps:
- Get approval for a few cans of spray enamel so I (or someone) can
clean, prime, and paint the metal reinforcements. We don't want them
to rust and we want them to look as spiffy as everything else!
- My dad has an idea about how to accurately drill the holes for the
pegs, but I want to make sure Sir Domingo (Charles Barnes) doesn't
already have something in mind.
- Get approval from the Barony for the purchase of the round steel bar
for the pegs. I'm estimating 10" of stock per pole (6" sticking out
the top, sunk 4" into the pole), which makes for about 460" of stock
plus some wiggle room for waste from cutting, so I think two 20-ft.
pieces of this stuff, totaling $27 or so, would do the trick:

- Make sure that Thompson's Water Seal is purchased and ready to go
soon so that we can get these sealed. I recommend this, as it has a
little tint to it, which I think will make them look nicer:

This stuff should be able to be applied with just a garden sprayer,
so it should be fairly easy to do.

It might be possible to do some of this over the weekend if anyone's
available and would like to help.
