THE AMAZON AUCTION

Each year the Amazon Household of Ansteorra holds an auction at the Gothic 
War.  The purpose of the auction is to help refill the War Chest of the 
Western Region.

The Amazon Household will present for auction on Saturday night some of the 
finest young lords in Ansteorra.   If you have a young gentleman that you 
feel would bring a ‘pretty penny’ at auction and you wish to volunteer his 
participation, please contact Baroness Jan at Gothic War during the day on 
Saturday.

We invite all who wish to come to the auction to be our guests.  All adult 
ladies (you do NOT have to be an Amazon to participate) will be allowed to 
make bids.  Bids will be made with markers for donated items that are 
relevant to the SCA.  Markers will be given out for the value of the item 
during the day prior to the auction.  We will also take IOU’s for specific 
items/handwork/etc. in place of markers.  IOU’s used for bidding must 
include a description of the item, your SCA name and home location and your 
mundane name, address and phone number.  IOU's must also be evaluated prior 
to the auction.  The IOU's are considered a promise to the Baron and 
Baroness of Bonwicke that those bid items will be sent/delivered to the War 
Chest ASAP after the Gothic War.

The ladies with the winning bids will have possession of the chattel only 
for Saturday evening.  Please remember that this is only a game.  The 
chattel are expected to follow through with the game, but the chattel must 
be treated with respect. We are all adults (no minors allowed) and no one is 
expected to do anything they do not wish to do.

So, come to the Gothic War - ladies bring your treasure boxes, join in the 
fun and help fill the war chest.
