Artisans Artisans Artisans

Come one, come all, and prepare your entries for the
Arts and Sciences Competition
hosted by the Shire of Loch Ruadh

The format for this year’s competition is not based on skill level or
experience. Your entry must be crafted from materials that you have
personally grown, harvested, or collected from natural sources.
You’ve dug the clay used to produce your pottery cup, harvested the lavender
that is the integral ingredient in your hand cream, searched endlessly for
the perfect piece of driftwood used to carve a beautiful statuette. Any and
all of these are ideas to be used for your special entry. Take this time to
revel in the wonders of nature, let your imagination flow free, and create a
Natural Wonder.
Documentation will encompass a description of the materials used, where and
how they were obtained, where they would have been available in period, and
how the item would have been used in period. You will also be requested to
include a list of materials that are not ”natural” by this competition’s
definition, and why “un-natural” materials were substituted.
Higher consideration will be given to entries more completely natural.
Entries will receive Judges commentary, but the winner will be decided by
Populace vote.
The categories for the competition will be Adult and Youth.
