To take advantage of the member discount at Pennsic War, attendees must
bring a valid proof of SCA membership to show at the gate. Each year, many
people who have lost or not yet received their membership cards use the
online membership system to print a proof-of-membership letter.

For most people, the system works perfectly, but as with any online system
there are occasional glitches. The SCA Webfolk and the Member Services
Office are happy to work with you to resolve any problems and get you a
valid proof of membership, but it may take a few days to do so.

With this in mind, the SCA Webfolk and Member Services Office strongly
recommend that those going to Pennsic check their memberships *early* (July
20 at the latest). We are here to help, and glad to do so, and the sooner
you find out about a problem, the sooner we can help you resolve it. The
Webfolk themselves will be leaving in early August to attend Pennsic, so
e-mails sent after July 31 may not be read for several days, perhaps not
until it's too late for us to help you. If a new card must be mailed out
from Member Services, you will need to allow AT LEAST two weeks for the
processing and mailing time.

If you are going to Pennsic this year, won't you please take a moment NOW to
make sure your membership, and those of your family members, are valid and
that you have a current member card or proof-of-membership letter?

If you last renewed on-line, you can print a proof of membership letter by
entering your membership transaction ID (be sure to include the "US" or "IN"
prefix), or your name and zip/postal code. If you renewed by fax or mail,
the on-line system will not have your membership record, so you will need to
call the Member Services Office about getting a replacement membership card
(800-789-7486, open Monday through Thursday, 9 am-4 pm U.S. Pacific Time).

Yours in glad service to the SCA,

Maistor Iustinos Tekton (Scott Courtney),
Chief Technical Officer, SCA Inc.
