[Sca-cooks] Gulf Wars BBQ competition - sigh

I'm no where near being a cooking laurel, but boy, do I understand where you
are coming from. This would be much more exciting if it was something more
like a siege cooking contest that Food Network was coming to film, but BBQ?
Is there even a remote way to justify bbq as "period-oid"? Then again, to
me, Food's new show "Chopped" really feels like siege cooking...

That being said, I sure would love to be there and eat some of the results
of the competition, but to me, it is rather out of place at an SCA event
