[Sca-cooks] Menu ideas?

One of the joys of being a parent is sharing family traditions. I grew up in a traditional Swedish/Saami house. My Grandfather would lament not having roasted reindeer but elk was an okay substitute, which my Grandmother happily made.. My Mom refused to make it but would make roast ham with a mustard crust. Grandma would also make lutfisk which my Grandfather would mix with heavy amounts of peas, mashed potatoes and mustard. The spiecier the mustard the happier he was.
Christmas morning Grandma made coffee cake and a cross between a pancake and a cake using rice. Of course there was ableskiver and lefse served with plenty of coffee that would make any Naval officer happy. A tradition my Brother and I always looked forward to was her rice pudding. When she passed away I inherited her cookbooks. I eagerly went to the section, marked heavily with time, that had the recipe. To my amusement I found in her writing, " Get Cozy Shack instead."
How much of these traditions are Medieval but this will be served tomorrow night along with other additions.
God Jul!

Subject: [Sca-cooks] Menu ideas?

We have a leg of lamb planned for tomorrow, but I'm looking for ideas
tonight. I just called a friend of mine with whom my mother and I used
to spend Christmas Eve many years ago, when I was in HS, and it
occurred to me it might be fun to make up a fancier mneal again, ton
ight for supper.

We have cubed steak we want to use. We've recently used it to make
Stroganoff, so we don't quite want that, Rob makes chicken fried steak
often, so we don't want that either, and we have a pretty good stash
of spices and the like, as well as the ability to run out and pick up
something else if we need it. I also have chickens, so we have a
pretty good stash of very fresh eggs to use.

So, any suggestions? Preferably with favorite recipes?
