KAWAIIIIII!!!!!  [Japanese for awww cuuuute!!!!  just in case someone 
here didn't know.]  I want one of these irons now.

Seeing Bonito in one of the recipes you cited makes me wonder if one 
could use that Japanese staple, dried bonito flakes, for part of the 
filling.  Just a thought.
